This policy explains what personal data QuickSell GH collects, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We've written it in plain language.

By using QuickSell GH you confirm that you have read this policy and that you are at least 18 years old. If you don't agree with it, don't use the app — and if you already have an account, email us and we'll delete it.

1. Who we are

QuickSell GH is a classified advertising app operated by Synergy Consult ("QuickSell GH", "we", "us"), based in Accra, Ghana.

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), we are the data controller of the personal data described here. "Processing" means collecting, storing, using, sharing, or deleting personal data.

2. What is public on QuickSell GH

Read this section before you post anything. It is the most important part of this policy.

QuickSell GH is a public noticeboard. Once your ad is approved, the following is visible to anyone using the app:

Think carefully before you make information public. Do not upload or write:

Once an ad is live, other people can screenshot, copy, or save it. We cannot retrieve or delete copies other people have made — not when you delete the ad, and not when you delete your account.

3. Our data protection principles

Act 843 requires us to follow eight principles. We hold ourselves to them:

PrincipleWhat it means here
AccountabilityWe are responsible for your data, including where Google processes it for us
LawfulnessWe only process data where we have a lawful basis — see section 5
Specification of purposeWe collect data for stated purposes only, and tell you what they are
CompatibilityWe won't later use your data for something unrelated to why we collected it
Quality of informationWe keep data accurate and let you correct it; we don't process data in a way that undermines your dignity
OpennessThis document, kept honest and current
Data security safeguardsSee section 12
Data subject participationYou can see, correct, and delete your data — see section 9

4. Data we collect

We collect only what the app needs. We do not buy personal data from anyone, and we do not receive data about you from social networks, data brokers, or other users.

Your password: we never see it. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores passwords in hashed form. We cannot read it, recover it, or tell you what it is. If you forget it, use "Forgot password?" in the app.

4.2 What the app creates as you use it

4.3 What is collected automatically

What we do not collect. Being specific matters more than reassurance, so:

6. Who we share it with

6.1 Other users

Everything in section 2 becomes public when your ad is approved.

6.2 Service providers

We use Google to run the app. Google processes this data on our behalf, on our instructions:

ServiceWhat it handles
Firebase AuthenticationYour email and hashed password
Cloud FirestoreAccount details, ads, blocks, reports
Cloud Storage for FirebaseYour photographs
Google AdMobAdvertising — see section 11

Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security. That is the full list — we use no analytics firms, no marketing agencies, no data brokers, and no identity-verification vendors.

6.3 Legal and safety

We may disclose data where Ghanaian law requires it, where a court orders it, or in response to a lawful request from the Ghana Police Service or another authority — and where we reasonably believe it necessary to prevent fraud, investigate a crime, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect someone from harm.

6.4 If the business changes hands

If QuickSell GH is ever sold, merged, or transferred, user data would normally transfer with it as a business asset. If that happens we will tell you in the app before the transfer takes effect, and the buyer will be bound by this policy until they give you notice of a new one.

7. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States (region us-central1). This means your personal data leaves Ghana.

Act 843 permits cross-border transfer where you consent or where it's necessary to perform our agreement with you. We rely on Google's contractual data-protection commitments and security certifications to safeguard data held outside Ghana. By using QuickSell GH you consent to this transfer. If you're not comfortable with your data being held outside Ghana, please don't use the app.

8. How long we keep it

DataKept for
Account and profileUntil you delete your account
Live adsUntil you delete them, mark them sold, or we remove them
PhotographsDeleted when the ad is deleted
Rejected adsUp to 12 months, to identify repeat violations
ReportsUp to 24 months, for safety and abuse investigation
Suspension recordsKept after suspension, so a suspended user can't simply re-register
Support emailsUp to 24 months

9. Your rights

Under Act 843 you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email stunnerconsult@gmail.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within 14 days. These rights are free to exercise. If a request is repetitive or excessive we may explain why we can't act on it, but we'll always tell you rather than ignore you.

10. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and your data at any time:

Deletion permanently removes your profile, your email address, your phone number, every ad you posted, and every photograph you uploaded. We delete — we do not deactivate or freeze. There is no recovery afterwards, so download anything you want to keep first.

What survives deletion, and why:

11. Advertising

QuickSell GH is free and funded by advertising. We use Google AdMob.

AdMob and its partners may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, device information, and how you interact with ads — in order to serve, cap, and measure advertising, including personalised advertising.

We don't choose which specific ads you see and we don't endorse the advertisers. You control this:

12. Security and data breaches

We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your data against theft, unauthorised access, cyberattack, loss, and damage:

No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the Data Protection Commission, and we will notify you directly and without undue delay. We'll tell you what happened, what data was involved, and what you should do.

13. Automated decisions

Every advertisement on QuickSell GH is reviewed by a human being, not an algorithm. We do not use AI or automated decision-making to approve ads, reject ads, or suspend accounts, and we do not send your data to any AI service.

If that ever changes, we will update this section and tell you in the app before it takes effect — and you will keep the right to ask a person to review any automated decision that affects you.

14. No limitation of our responsibility

If we breach the data protection principles in section 3, no exclusion or limitation of liability anywhere in our Terms of Use — including the liability cap — applies to that breach. We cannot contract our way out of our obligations under Act 843, and we don't try to.

15. Children

QuickSell GH is not for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account or post an ad. We don't knowingly process data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will delete it promptly.

Don't post photographs of children, or a child's name, school, or contact details, in an advertisement — not even your own child's.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. If we make a material change to how we use your data, we'll notify you in the app before it takes effect and give you a chance to read it. Continuing to use QuickSell GH afterwards means you accept the updated policy.

17. Contact and complaints

Questions, requests, or complaints about your data:

Please contact us first — most things we can fix quickly. But you don't have to, and if you're not satisfied with our response you have the right to complain to Ghana's supervisory authority:

You may also seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction in Ghana.
