This policy explains what personal data QuickSell GH collects, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We've written it in plain language.
By using QuickSell GH you confirm that you have read this policy and that you are at least 18 years old. If you don't agree with it, don't use the app — and if you already have an account, email us and we'll delete it.

1. Who we are
QuickSell GH is a classified advertising app operated by Synergy Consult ("QuickSell GH", "we", "us"), based in Accra, Ghana.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), we are the data controller of the personal data described here. "Processing" means collecting, storing, using, sharing, or deleting personal data.
- Contact: stunnerconsult@gmail.com
- Address: Starlets Avenue Block 7 and Achimota, Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana
2. What is public on QuickSell GH
Read this section before you post anything. It is the most important part of this policy.
QuickSell GH is a public noticeboard. Once your ad is approved, the following is visible to anyone using the app:
- Your phone number — buyers tap it to call you or open WhatsApp
- Your display name
- Every photo you upload
- Your title, description, price, category, condition, and location — region, city, and any landmark you type
- How many times your ad has been viewed
Think carefully before you make information public. Do not upload or write:
- Your home address, or a photo that shows your house number or gate
- Ghana Card, passport, driver's licence, or any ID document
- Vehicle registration papers, land documents, or receipts showing your details
- Bank account, mobile money, or card details
- Other people's faces, without asking them first
Once an ad is live, other people can screenshot, copy, or save it. We cannot retrieve or delete copies other people have made — not when you delete the ad, and not when you delete your account.
3. Our data protection principles
Act 843 requires us to follow eight principles. We hold ourselves to them:
| Principle | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Accountability | We are responsible for your data, including where Google processes it for us |
| Lawfulness | We only process data where we have a lawful basis — see section 5 |
| Specification of purpose | We collect data for stated purposes only, and tell you what they are |
| Compatibility | We won't later use your data for something unrelated to why we collected it |
| Quality of information | We keep data accurate and let you correct it; we don't process data in a way that undermines your dignity |
| Openness | This document, kept honest and current |
| Data security safeguards | See section 12 |
| Data subject participation | You can see, correct, and delete your data — see section 9 |
4. Data we collect
We collect only what the app needs. We do not buy personal data from anyone, and we do not receive data about you from social networks, data brokers, or other users.
4.1 What you give us
| Data | When | Public? |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Creating an account | No |
| Password | Creating an account | No — see below |
| Display name | Creating an account | Yes, on your ads |
| Phone number | Posting your first ad | Yes, on your ads |
| Ad content — title, description, price, category, condition, region, city, landmark | Posting an ad | Yes, once approved |
| Vehicle details — make, model, year, mileage, transmission, fuel | Posting a vehicle ad | Yes, once approved |
| Photographs | Posting an ad | Yes, once approved |
| Report reason and notes | Reporting an ad | No — moderators only |
Your password: we never see it. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores passwords in hashed form. We cannot read it, recover it, or tell you what it is. If you forget it, use "Forgot password?" in the app.
4.2 What the app creates as you use it
- Account identifier — a random ID for your account
- Account status — active or suspended, and your number of ads
- Timestamps — account created, last active, Terms accepted, and each ad's posted and updated times
- Blocked sellers — sellers you've blocked. Private to you; the blocked seller is not told.
- Moderation records — each ad's status (under review, live, rejected, sold) and any rejection reason
- Reports about your ads — kept if others report your listing
- View counts — how many times each ad was opened
4.3 What is collected automatically
- Advertising ID and device data — by Google AdMob, to show ads. See section 11.
- Technical and diagnostic data — by Google Firebase, to keep the service running, available, and secure.
What we do not collect. Being specific matters more than reassurance, so:
- No GPS or precise location. The region and city on your ad are the ones you pick from a list yourself.
- No contacts, call logs, or SMS. The app doesn't request those permissions.
- No photo library access. Android's Photo Picker hands us only the specific images you select. The app cannot browse your gallery.
- No ID documents. We never ask for your Ghana Card, passport, or licence. If anyone claiming to be QuickSell GH asks you for one, it's a scam — report it.
- No payment data. We don't process payments, so we never see card or mobile money details.
- No in-app chat. When you tap Call or WhatsApp, you leave the app. Whatever you say to the other person then is between you, them, and — for WhatsApp — Meta. We don't see it and can't retrieve it in a dispute.
- No marketing emails. We only email you about your account, your listings, or a reply to something you asked.
- No social logins. Email and password only.
- No cookies in the app. These legal pages don't set cookies either.
5. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create and run your account | You can't post without one | Performing our agreement with you |
| Publish your ad and show your phone number to buyers | The whole purpose of the app | Your consent, given when you post |
| Review every ad before it goes live | To keep illegal, fraudulent, and harmful listings out | Legitimate interest; legal obligation |
| Investigate reports; suspend accounts | To protect users from scams and abuse | Legitimate interest |
| Keep your block list | So you don't see sellers you blocked | Performing our agreement with you |
| Count views | So you can see how your ad performs | Legitimate interest |
| Answer your emails | Support | Performing our agreement with you |
| Show advertisements | To fund a free service | Consent and legitimate interest |
| Respond to lawful requests from authorities | Required of us | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not build advertising profiles about you. We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not send your data to any AI service.
6. Who we share it with
6.1 Other users
Everything in section 2 becomes public when your ad is approved.
6.2 Service providers
We use Google to run the app. Google processes this data on our behalf, on our instructions:
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Firebase Authentication | Your email and hashed password |
| Cloud Firestore | Account details, ads, blocks, reports |
| Cloud Storage for Firebase | Your photographs |
| Google AdMob | Advertising — see section 11 |
Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security. That is the full list — we use no analytics firms, no marketing agencies, no data brokers, and no identity-verification vendors.
6.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose data where Ghanaian law requires it, where a court orders it, or in response to a lawful request from the Ghana Police Service or another authority — and where we reasonably believe it necessary to prevent fraud, investigate a crime, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect someone from harm.
6.4 If the business changes hands
If QuickSell GH is ever sold, merged, or transferred, user data would normally transfer with it as a business asset. If that happens we will tell you in the app before the transfer takes effect, and the buyer will be bound by this policy until they give you notice of a new one.
7. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States (region us-central1). This means your personal data leaves Ghana.
Act 843 permits cross-border transfer where you consent or where it's necessary to perform our agreement with you. We rely on Google's contractual data-protection commitments and security certifications to safeguard data held outside Ghana. By using QuickSell GH you consent to this transfer. If you're not comfortable with your data being held outside Ghana, please don't use the app.
8. How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | Until you delete your account |
| Live ads | Until you delete them, mark them sold, or we remove them |
| Photographs | Deleted when the ad is deleted |
| Rejected ads | Up to 12 months, to identify repeat violations |
| Reports | Up to 24 months, for safety and abuse investigation |
| Suspension records | Kept after suspension, so a suspended user can't simply re-register |
| Support emails | Up to 24 months |
9. Your rights
Under Act 843 you have the right to:
- Be informed — this document
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate — edit your ads in the app, or email us
- Object to processing, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent to publish means we take your ads down.
- Prevent processing for direct marketing — though we don't do any
- Delete your data — see section 10
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission — see section 17
- Seek compensation in court for damage caused by a breach of the Act
To exercise any of these, email stunnerconsult@gmail.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within 14 days. These rights are free to exercise. If a request is repetitive or excessive we may explain why we can't act on it, but we'll always tell you rather than ignore you.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and your data at any time:
- In the app: Settings → Delete account, then confirm.
- By email: stunnerconsult@gmail.com, from your account's email address.
Deletion permanently removes your profile, your email address, your phone number, every ad you posted, and every photograph you uploaded. We delete — we do not deactivate or freeze. There is no recovery afterwards, so download anything you want to keep first.
What survives deletion, and why:
- Reports filed about your listings, and the record of any suspension — kept for the periods in section 8. Without this, a suspended user could delete and re-register instantly, and the safety system would be worthless. These records hold your account identifier, not a live profile.
- Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.
- Copies other people made while your ad was public — screenshots, saved images, listings copied to other sites. We have no way to reach those.
11. Advertising
QuickSell GH is free and funded by advertising. We use Google AdMob.
AdMob and its partners may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, device information, and how you interact with ads — in order to serve, cap, and measure advertising, including personalised advertising.
We don't choose which specific ads you see and we don't endorse the advertisers. You control this:
- Reset or delete your advertising ID: Android Settings → Google → All services → Ads
- Opt out of personalised ads: same menu. You'll still see ads — they'll just be less targeted.
- Read the detail: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services
12. Security and data breaches
We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your data against theft, unauthorised access, cyberattack, loss, and damage:
- Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Passwords are hashed by Google Firebase; we never see or store them
- Server-side security rules mean you can only read and write your own data. Sellers cannot approve their own ads, promote them, give themselves a Verified badge, or edit anyone else's block list — the server refuses, regardless of what an app claims.
- Only accounts on our moderator list can approve listings, change account status, or read reports
- Photo uploads are restricted to image files under 5 MB and can only be written to your own folder
No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the Data Protection Commission, and we will notify you directly and without undue delay. We'll tell you what happened, what data was involved, and what you should do.
13. Automated decisions
Every advertisement on QuickSell GH is reviewed by a human being, not an algorithm. We do not use AI or automated decision-making to approve ads, reject ads, or suspend accounts, and we do not send your data to any AI service.
If that ever changes, we will update this section and tell you in the app before it takes effect — and you will keep the right to ask a person to review any automated decision that affects you.
14. No limitation of our responsibility
If we breach the data protection principles in section 3, no exclusion or limitation of liability anywhere in our Terms of Use — including the liability cap — applies to that breach. We cannot contract our way out of our obligations under Act 843, and we don't try to.
15. Children
QuickSell GH is not for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account or post an ad. We don't knowingly process data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will delete it promptly.
Don't post photographs of children, or a child's name, school, or contact details, in an advertisement — not even your own child's.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. If we make a material change to how we use your data, we'll notify you in the app before it takes effect and give you a chance to read it. Continuing to use QuickSell GH afterwards means you accept the updated policy.
17. Contact and complaints
Questions, requests, or complaints about your data:
- Email: stunnerconsult@gmail.com
Please contact us first — most things we can fix quickly. But you don't have to, and if you're not satisfied with our response you have the right to complain to Ghana's supervisory authority:
- Data Protection Commission, Ghana
- dataprotection.org.gh
You may also seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction in Ghana.
